Son #3

This is a couple of days late, but I wanted  to get out a quick update on my youngest son.

We are home and doing well.

We are just praying and waiting for final pathology reports, but it doesn’t look like cancer. The Doctors called it a  mycobacterium that lives in the soil. It’s actually part of the same strain that causes Tuberculosis. They think my son probably ingested it when playing outside.

One interesting tidbit? The chances on my son getting this bacteria was less then his chances on having cancer.

Things look good moving forward. The doctors think they were able to remove all of the tumor and that this will hopefully solve the issue with the seven swollen lymph nodes on his neck as well.

We appreciate everyone’s prayers. This is truly a great Christmas gift.

UPDATE:

On a side note. I am acquaintances with Mary Allen. I meet her through Twitter and follow her through Facebook as well. The other day she sent out a request for messages in the sand she could write from her vacation in Tortola.

I thought it would be fun to send in a request. Here’s what she just sent me:

How cool is that. From around the world we had people thinking and praying for #3, and our prayers were being answered. Thanks Mary!

NOTE: I did not get this published before the fact, but wanted to get the details out there none-the-less. I back dated it to make sense chronologically.

Our youngest son of three boys will be 3 on the 20th. Tomorrow afternoon (Monday, the 15th) he is going into surgery to remove a growth/tumor on his left parotid gland. This gland is located on the face below the ear and next to the cheek.

What ever it is in there is also causing his lymph nodes in his neck to swell up.

It could be a laundry list of items causing this, but of course we pray it isn’t cancer.

The surgery starts around 3:00 PM CST and will last for at least two hours. If you could pray specifically the God guides the doctors, we have a good outcome, and that my wife has some peace through this I would be very grateful.

Sincerely,
Chris
